Referring to our advisory opinion number 99-04 (membership in the Association of Trial
Lawyers of American and Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association), you have asked the committee
whether you may participate in the Roscoe Pound Foundation Forum.
In the opinion of the committee, attendance at a forum or symposium
of a professional association is not the equivalent of membership and, accordingly, we do
not believe it would be inappropriate for your to participate in the forum.
